CALENDAR VAULT™ · A CENTURY OF DAILY 5

The Calendar Vault: Your Complete Ascendle History, Preserved

A hundred years of shared challenges, saved Daily 5 history and detailed Monthly Reports that turn completed months into something worth exploring.

01 · A century of Daily 5

A daily puzzle is one date. Calendar Vault makes it a lifetime of play.

Every Ascendle Daily 5 is a shared five-board challenge. The Calendar Vault makes those dated games accessible as a much larger landscape: a century of deterministic puzzle journeys reaching back to 1926.

The Vault preserves both the date of the challenge and the player’s progress through it. A completed game stays with its original date. An unfinished five-level run can be resumed. A missed day remains available for discovery instead of disappearing when the calendar changes.

That turns the Daily 5 into more than a daily appointment. Each date has its own five answers, running score and possible route through the game. Across a hundred years of history, the calendar becomes a record that can be explored, completed and analysed.

The October 27 implementation sets the earliest selectable year to 1926. The game uses deterministic date-based challenge identities.
02 · Calendar view

Every square is a real game, not merely a date marker.

The Vault opens as a familiar month grid. Select a date to play its five-level puzzle or revisit the summary of a completed run. Finished days are distinguished by result: Gold, Silver or Bronze. A partially played date displays its progress so the player can return to that run.

October 2026 provides a genuine example from the current player history. The sequence from 19 to 27 October shows nine completed games, including Golds and Silvers, arranged in their original calendar positions. The calendar records which game belongs to which date, even when a run is played later.

The header adds practical movement through the archive: previous and next month, TODAY, RESUME and REPORT. Selecting the month and year opens a more powerful navigator for moving back through the decades.

03 · Remembering each run

Completed, in progress and not yet played: three useful states.

Calendar Vault distinguishes a finished dated challenge from one that is partway through its five boards. Both are meaningful pieces of the player’s history. A completed result carries its final score, medal and five level performances. An in-progress entry remembers which stage of the journey has been reached.

The separate List View makes these records especially practical. Its IN PROGRESS and GAMES PLAYED tabs allow the player to focus either on games awaiting completion or on the results already achieved. The sortable columns support dates, completion order, score, level progress and Standard/Hard identity.

This means a player does not need to find an unfinished run by scanning a hundred years of individual calendar squares. The same history can be approached visually by date or directly as a list.

04 · The completed Daily 5

Selecting a finished date opens more than a medal.

The completed-game summary brings the five-board journey back into focus. It identifies the original puzzle date, the Daily 5 game number, the final medal and the combined score. Beneath that, the five level scores and their answers show exactly where the result was earned.

The recorded 19 October 2026 run finished Gold at −4. Its level scores were −1, 0, 0, −2 and −1, with TRIAD, OCHRE, SUEDE, MESHY and DUSKY as the five answers. Together those values explain the total rather than reducing the entire game to one trophy.

From that finished result, players can open Run Analytics, see their Ascendle Stats, share the result or return to Calendar Vault. The archive therefore connects the stored outcome to the detailed decision and performance systems behind it.

05 · Navigating 100 years

From calendar squares to decades, years and sortable lists.

A normal calendar is excellent for understanding a month; it is slower for travelling back thirty or sixty years. Calendar Vault therefore adds a date navigator that moves beyond simple month-by-month arrows. Selecting the month header opens year and decade choices, complete with progress information.

The available historical range begins in 1926. Players can move into the 1920s, 1950s or 1990s without stepping through hundreds of individual months. The selector tracks which years have been explored and how many eligible dates have been completed.

List View supplies another kind of navigation. IN PROGRESS is especially valuable for finding dated runs you left unfinished. GAMES PLAYED can be sorted by puzzle date, actual play date, score or Hard Mode, bringing different questions about the same record into focus.

The selector is part of the current Calendar Vault implementation. Future dates are locked and the historical lower boundary is 1926.
06 · The Monthly Report unlock

Complete a month. Turn its Daily 5 history into a report.

The Vault has a second level of progression beyond completing an individual puzzle: completing an entire calendar month. The REPORT control remains locked while dates in that month are unfinished. Once every day has a completed result, the month qualifies for its full Monthly Report.

That completed month provides an organised set of dated challenges. The report compiler uses the canonical puzzle date for Daily 5 and Vault games, even when a historical date was played later. The report can therefore examine a month as a coherent unit of five-level play.

The result is not simply a certificate that the calendar grid is full. It is a substantial intelligence report covering how the games were solved, where score pressure accumulated, what strategic choices were made and how those results fit alongside the player’s wider history.

ACTUAL UNLOCK RULE

How a month earns its report

The eligibility check counts completed Daily/Vault entries against the number of days in the selected month.

01

Choose a month. Its dates are shared challenge identities, each with five boards.

02

Complete the dates. The calendar records every finished result, including runs played after the original day.

03

Open REPORT. The control unlocks when all dates in the month are complete, including February’s correct day count.

The month-completion gate is implemented in Calendar Vault’s getMonthStats and updateReportButton functions.
07 · An actual month in numbers

August 2026: 31 runs, 155 levels and a measurable story.

Your August 2026 Monthly Report demonstrates the amount of information that sits behind a finished month. In the supplied ALL PLAY view, the report records 31 runs and 155 individual levels, with an average of 20.52 guesses per complete run.

The five-level target is 22 guesses. August’s recorded average was therefore 1.48 guesses better than target. Looking at individual boards, the average of 4.10 guesses per level was 0.30 below the 4.40 combined target average.

These headline figures gain significance when paired with the distribution of how many guesses were needed across all 155 level attempts. Rather than reporting only one average, Monthly Report makes the shape of the month visible.

08 · More than averages

Skill, Luck, active time, streaks and real achievements.

The completed report does not stop at guess counts. Your August summary includes SKILL 80 and LUCK 58 across 29 of 31 analysed runs, alongside 15 hours 37 minutes of active play and a typical run lasting 12 minutes 22 seconds.

Those measures answer different questions. Guess averages show performance against the scoring target. SKILL and LUCK examine the decisions and feedback experienced during solving. Active-play time records the player’s engagement with the puzzles rather than simply the elapsed time between opening and closing the game.

The report also identifies the player’s current streak, best streak within the month and career-best streak. Its badge and progress analysis can highlight an achievement from the period. In the August report, that distinction belongs to TIME ATTACK, achieved 60 times in the month.

The result is an evidence-rich portrait of a player’s month, with performance, analysis, time and achievements presented together rather than as disconnected statistics.

09 · Six views of one month

From ALL PLAY to the individual game modes.

Calendar Vault’s Monthly Report offers a useful distinction between the complete activity record and its component modes. The report opens on ALL PLAY, then allows the player to examine DAILY 5, VAULT, CASUAL, CLASSIC and CHALLENGE separately when those modes have activity for the period.

The compiler preserves dated membership for Daily and Vault games using the puzzle’s canonical date. Unlimited games, which do not have dated puzzle identities, are assigned to the month in which they were completed.

That distinction creates a coherent record: historical Vault challenges can be analysed as part of the month their puzzles belong to, while Unlimited is measured by when it was actually played. The individual lenses make it possible to study each activity type without losing the overall view.

10 · A complete analytical report

What the detailed Monthly Report can actually investigate.

Behind the shareable summary lies a substantially richer report. The current compiler assembles sections on the month at a glance, the distribution of results, individual level performance, opening strategy, Hard Mode comparisons, SKILL/LUCK and game mechanics.

It can also identify specific answer words associated with structural friction or score pressure, and highlight progress in the badge system. The LONG VIEW section compares selected monthly measures with the player’s career record, so that a finished month has context beyond its own 28, 30 or 31 days.

These are related but different lenses on performance. A month with a better guess average need not have the same strategic characteristics as another month. Strong SKILL figures, longer active thinking time, an unusual distribution of difficult answers or a rise in Hard Mode play can each tell a different part of the story.

The report also offers a distilled format for sharing or exporting, making the month’s achievements legible without requiring another player to inspect every dated game individually.

11 · A growing archive

The real reward is the history you can build.

A single completed date records one five-board result. A completed month opens a deeper analysis. A sequence of completed months creates a long-term history of scores, efficiency, decisions, elapsed active play and milestones.

That long perspective is particularly suited to Ascendle’s format. A player can revisit a puzzle from decades ago, compare today’s progress with a past month and investigate why some five-level journeys were more demanding than others.

The Vault’s calendar, list view, completed summaries, badges and Monthly Reports are designed as parts of one system. Each strengthens the others: the calendar gives the history its shape, the games supply the results, and the reports explain the accumulated evidence.

The Daily 5 remains a shared challenge for the date. Calendar Vault makes the journey through those dates something much larger: a personal history built one completed five-level run at a time.

One hundred years of dated challenges. Five boards per date. A record that grows with every finished run.
