What AscendleIQ Actually Measures After a Game
A closer look at the post-run evidence AscendleIQ uses to explain candidate reduction, decision quality, feedback outcome and time.
Analysis belongs after the play
AscendleIQ™ is deliberately post-game. It does not interrupt the active board with instructions or tell the player what to type next.
Once a run is complete, the situation changes. The decisions are locked, the answer is known and the route can be examined without influencing the result.
That is the point at which AscendleIQ becomes useful: not as a solver playing for you, but as a way to understand what your own guesses actually did.
LEFT shows how the candidate space changed
Before a guess is played, there may be many answers consistent with the feedback already on the board. After the guess, that set usually becomes smaller.
AscendleIQ tracks the answers left around each decision so the player can see the size of the position they were actually facing.
This matters because a fourth guess made with two candidates remaining is a very different decision from a fourth guess made with twenty plausible answers still alive.
SKILL and LUCK answer different questions
SKILL looks at the quality of the choice using the information available when the decision was made. LUCK looks at how favourable the resulting feedback branch turned out to be.
Keeping those separate prevents hindsight from flattening the analysis. A strong guess is not made weak simply because it happened to receive an awkward branch. A lucky direct hit does not automatically prove that the preceding choice was the strongest route available.
TIME adds another piece of the route
Ascendle also records active thinking time around the guesses in a run. That gives another way to understand where the puzzle demanded attention.
A difficult board is not only the one that uses more rows. A level solved on target may still have required a long period of analysis, while another board may have unfolded immediately from a helpful structure.
Time therefore adds context without replacing the score. The score remains the result. TIME helps explain the experience inside it.
Top solutions are evidence, not commandments
AscendleIQ can surface strong continuations from the position that existed at a particular point. Those routes are useful because they show how the candidate space could have been attacked differently.
They are not there to reduce word solving to one “correct” move. Different guesses can trade immediate solve probability against information, trap protection and route shape.
The useful question after a run is not “What should I have played?” It is “What did my choice do, what alternatives existed, and why did the position develop the way it did?”
